Our Eggwald mountain inn
High above Bad Ragaz a beautiful mountain inn in Kunkels on the way to Kunkelspass
Eating and drinking keeps body and soul together - also on the way to Kunkelspass.
Dear Guest
Nice that you are visiting our site. We are a small but nice mountain inn and are pretty much in the middle between Vättis, the southernmost village in the canton of St. Gallen and the Kunkelspass, which is already on Graubünden soil. Spend some time on our garden terrace and let your gaze wander in the direction of Kunkelspass over lush meadows full of flowers. The Calanda is quiet and mighty and invites you to quiet hiking far away from the crowds of tourists.
I bought the Eggwald 22 years ago to do something good for me and you. It's great to work in this quiet landscape and the Eggwald offers you a little break with a big effect. The Eggwald is more than a restaurant; it is a place where people like to meet, get together, sleep and linger comfortably. The Berggasthaus Eggwald is a bit like a peaceful home.
Overnight in Eggwald
You get this super deal for just CHF 55.00 per person . It includes half-board CHF 30.00 and a voucher worth CHF 79.00 for renting an e-bike from Bad Ragaz.

WOLF ODYSSEY
A journey into the hidden realm of the wolves.
The wolf lives in Switzerland again. This triggers conflicts, emotions and discussions. In 2005, the Graubünden nature photographer Peter A. Dettling faced ten wild wolves. This encounter never let him go. He photographs, researches and writes about wolves. In "Wolf's Odyssey" he describes his adventurous search for the spirit, the nature of the wolf. In doing so, he took spectacular photos and gained new insights into the life of wild wolves in the Surselva, in the Calanda massif, in Canada and in the USA. «Wolf Odyssey»....
You can buy Peter Dettling's new book in our restaurant for the special price of Fr. 30.- instead of CHF 38.- buy directly.
Next year in Kraków!
PAUL Schneller
Photographer Paul Schneller regularly visited Kraków for six years (2014–2019) and immersed himself in the city’s Jewish life. He captures his impressions in his photographs and supplements them in a fictional dialogue that he conducts with his Jewish great-grandfather, Saul Chaim Grünfest.
This "photo dialogue" is a photographic experiment, just as Jewish life in Kraków is a socio-cultural experiment. Paul Schneller embarked on a journey to his own Jewish roots together with protagonists of Jewish life in Kraków.
